Black-headed Gull Preening

Yesterday’s trip to Hornsea Mere gave me plenty of time to play around with my digital camera and one thing I tried was taking some pictures through my binoculars. The lens was at full zoom and I steadied the binoculars on the car’s wing mirror. I tried to get a photo of a Black-headed Gull but as it was preening I just put the camera on action mode and held my finger down on the button, to get a reasonably interesting set of photos, below.

The gull was about 30 feet away and the photos have, yet again, had a little help from Adobe photoshop to improve them slightly.
